Learning about Science can be fun, or it can be boring! The teacher must bring the subject to life. Too often, students learn Science from pages in their text book, but never get the chance to see and take part in real-world experiments and lessons that show how theoretical topics relate to the world that we live in. That's especially true for home-schooled students.

I am British and have a First Class Honours degree in Electronics & Communications Engineering. I also have a Masters degree in Space & Satellite Technology from University College London. I worked for 15 years in the satellite and telecoms industry as a designer and manager, followed by 14 years teaching Science and English at international schools in Asia. Now I only teach online, to bring real Science into your home. I'm a very approachable and patient teacher, and very popular with all my students whose age ranges from 6 to 16 years old. I'm a father of 2 daughters and 2 sons.

I live in the beautiful town of Luang Prabang, in northern Laos, and have a fast, fiber-optic internet connection. My 'classroom' uses a pan/tilt webcam, a microscope webcam and a range of scientific equipment and props to enable the student to actively engage in the topic being studied. I am in the UTC+6 hours timezone, which allows me to teach Asian and Australian/New Zealand students in their local day and evening times, and to teach students in the USA/Canada during their local evening times. Please contact me to check lesson time availability.
